At the aptly-named “Awe Dropping” event last night, Apple dropped a quartet of new iPhones including the vanilla iPhone 17, the powerhouse iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the slimmest iPhone ever, dubbed the iPhone Air.
Alongside, Apple fans also got an updated AirPods Pro 3 and a lineup of new Apple Watches including the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
It was an eventful showcase with a flurry of upgrades across the Apple portfolio. So, if you’re itching to pre-book one of the latest Apple devices, here’s how you can do it.
How to pre-book iPhone 17
The Apple iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air launched on September 9 globally. Pre-orders kick off on September 12, while sale begins on September 19. In India, you can pre-book the iPhone 17 series starting September 12 on Croma.
The iPhone 17 and iPhone Air can be pre-booked by paying a nominal fee of Rs 2,000. While the more expensive Pro models can be pre-booked for Rs 17,000.
Apple’s new iPhone 17 lineup brings some of the most significant changes we’ve seen in years. The iPhone 17 finally makes the base model feel premium again with a brighter 3,000-nit display, ProMotion up to 120Hz, and tougher Ceramic Shield 2 glass.
It also upgrades to the A19 chip for 20 per cent faster performance and better efficiency, a stronger camera system with dual 48MP lenses plus a larger 18MP front camera, and a baseline 256GB of storage. The Action Button, slimmer bezels, and longer battery life push it beyond being “just the entry iPhone”.
The Pro models take things further with a bold aluminium unibody design, a new vapour-chamber cooling system, and the powerful A19 Pro chip delivering 40 per cent better sustained performance and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for gaming. A redesigned rear camera plateau houses three upgraded 48MP Fusion sensors with up to 8x in-sensor zoom, while the Pro Max boasts the longest battery life ever on an iPhone at 39 hours of video playback.
Meanwhile, the all-new iPhone Air stands out as Apple’s thinnest device at just 5.6mm, packing Pro-level performance into a grade-5 titanium frame with Ceramic Shield 2 protection. It carries a 6.5-inch 120Hz ProMotion display, dual cameras, and the flagship A19 Pro chip, proving Apple can blend ultra-thin aesthetics with durability and power. How to pre-book AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Watch SE 3, Watch Ultra 3
Once again, the new AirPods Pro 3 and the latest lineup of Apple Watches, including the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3, launched yesterday on September 9. All new Apple devices will be available for pre-booking starting September 9 itself in India. Sale kicks off on September 19, alongside the iPhone 17 lineup.
