iOS 26.1: How to turn off Liquid Glass on your iPhone

When Apple dropped iOS 26, there were two opinions about its design – either people loved it or hated it. If you are someone who despises Liquid Glass, you now have the ability to disable it with iOS 26.1.

Yes, you can finally and officially disable Liquid Glass’ clear UI with tinted UI for improved visibility. Here’s how you can do that.

How to disable Liquid Glass on your iPhone

Liquid Glass is pretty cool with its clear UI, but some people may prefer to keep things simple. That’s where the tinted glass option comes into play, and here’s how you can enable that option.

Step 1: Once you update your iPhone to iOS 26.1, head to Settings.

Step 2: Go to Display & Brightness.

Step 3: Scroll down, and you should see a new option called Liquid Glass. Tap it and you can choose between a Clear UI and a Tinted UI.

Step 4: Tap on Tinted, and you should see the true essence of Liquid Glass being turned off.
