How to use Photo Mode in Marvel Rivals Season 6

After months of fan requests, Marvel Rivals has officially added a Photo Mode as part of its Season 6 update. The online hero shooter now lets players pause the action, frame their favourite heroes, and capture epic screenshots; a feature still missing from FPS shooter games like Overwatch 2 and Apex Legends. Want to snap your favourite heroes? Here’s how you can use Photo Mode in Marvel Rivals.

Where and how Photo Mode works in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals’ Photo Mode is exclusive to the Times Square map, which functions as the game’s social hub. Since it is a non-combat space designed for player interaction and downtime, it is currently the only location where Photo Mode can be activated. You cannot use it during Quick Play, Competitive matches, or Practice vs AI.

Once inside the Times Square hub, players can access Photo Mode using the following inputs:

PlayStation: Long-press the Options button, then press the left stick (LS)
– Xbox: Long-press the Start button, then press the left stick (LS)
– PC: Long-press the O key

From there, players can zoom the camera, rotate both the view and their character, apply visual filters, and hide player names to clean up the shot. One catch is that other players remain active in the hub, which means photobombing is very much part of the experience. So, Deadpool may just steal your spotlight (as he usually does).

After lining up a shot, players trigger the shutter prompt and manually save the image using their platform’s screenshot tools, such as the Windows Snipping Tool or console capture buttons. There is no built-in gallery or export system yet.

A simple start, with room to grow

Feature-wise, the Photo Mode is fairly basic, especially when compared to single-player titles that offer pose controls, lighting tweaks, or timeline scrubbing. Still, its inclusion in an online-only hero shooter is notable, and it shows Netease experimenting beyond the usual competitive loop.

For now, Marvel Rivals players finally have a way to show off their favourite heroes without dodging abilities mid-frame, and that alone feels like a win. Have you snapped your favourite hero’s shot yet? Let us know in the comments section.
