Apple’s new MacBook Neo is creating waves in the market, but reports about the next-gen model have already started surfacing online. Not surprisingly, a new report claims that next year’s MacBook Neo model could get a significant upgrade.
MacBook Neo next generation details
According to Bloomberg, the next version of the MacBook Neo could be powered by a variant of the A19 Pro chip, which is expected to debut with upcoming iPhone models. This change would bring improved performance compared to the current model that runs on the A18 Pro processor.
The new chip is also expected to increase unified memory to 12GB, up from 8GB in the existing version. This upgrade could help improve multitasking and overall system responsiveness, especially for everyday productivity tasks.
Apple is likely to continue using a binned version of the chip, meaning one GPU core may be disabled. This approach allows the company to optimise production costs while maintaining performance levels suitable for the Neo lineup. As a result, the GPU configuration may remain similar to the current generation.
A report from last month claimed that the second-generation MacBook Neo could be equipped with a touchscreen. However, the new report does not state anything about the MacBook Neo 2’s display.
Supply challenges and launch timeline
The current MacBook Neo has reportedly seen strong demand, which may lead to supply constraints. Apple is said to be relying on leftover chip inventory from its iPhone lineup, and this supply may not be sufficient to meet ongoing demand.
Due to this situation, the company is exploring options such as increasing production or adjusting its release strategy. While the next model is expected to launch next year, there is also a possibility that timelines could shift depending on component availability.

Apple is also working with manufacturing partners in regions like China and Vietnam to manage production. However, maintaining the device’s affordable pricing while handling rising component costs could be a challenge going forward.
