Another Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona has come to an end, and while we saw plenty of refinements to the flagship phones we already know, MWC 2026 will likely be remembered for its bold and unusual innovations. This year, manufacturers didn’t just improve existing designs; but some even attempted to redefine what a smartphone can be.
From robotic features to modular concepts and camera-centric designs, several experimental devices stood out on the show floor. Here are five of the coolest phones showcased at MWC 2026.
Honor Robot Phone
One of the most talked-about devices at the event was the Honor Robot Phone. It introduced an industry-first, miniature three-axis mechanical gimbal system designed for unprecedented stabilisation.
Featuring a 200MP camera and developed with cinema expert ARRI, the motorised system supports AI-driven object tracking and cinematic spins (AI SpinShot).
Its embodied AI allows the camera module to physically adjust framing during video calls and move responsively to interactions or music. The device utilises high strength 2800MPa materials.
Tecno modular concept phone
Tecno presented a modular concept phone focused on adaptability. The base device is exceptionally thin at 4.9mm, utilising a magnetic system with eight alignment zones and pogo-pins to attach interchangeable accessories, such as a telephoto lens or power bank. Connectivity is managed via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mmWave.
Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone
The Leica Leitz Leitzphone, a global variant of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, targets photography enthusiasts with a 50MP 1-inch primary sensor and a variable focal length (75mm-100mm) telephoto lens.
A unique manual “Leica Camera Ring” allows for tactile zoom and exposure adjustments, while the software includes “Leica Essential” mode to emulate classic Leica camera color science.
Equipped with a 6,9-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset is heading to limited markets. In Europe, it is be priced at 1,999 euros (~Rs 2,12,300).
Infinix Note 60 Ultra
The Infinix Note 60 Ultra, designed with car maker Pininfarina, prioritises a completely flat “Uni-Chassis” rear, integrating a massive 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPE primary sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens without any camera bump.
A notable 7,000mAh silicon carbon battery supports 100W charging and “battery self-healing” technology designed to recover health over time. Features also include a hidden dot matrix rear display, a 144Hz AMOLED screen, and two-way satellite connectivity.
Unihertz Titan 2 Elite
Catering to nostalgic and practical needs, the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite reintroduces a physical QWERTY keyboard. The touch-sensitive keyboard functions as a touchpad, allowing for swiping and scrolling.
The device features a compact 4.03-inch 120Hz display, dual 50MP rear cameras, and five years of promised software support.
