There’s a certain kind of test every pair of earbuds in India eventually has to pass. Not a lab benchmark or a spec sheet claim, but the everyday chaos test. The low rumble of a Mumbai local pulling into the platform, overlapping conversations, and that constant hum that never really switches off. It’s in these moments that most budget earbuds start to show their limits.
The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro arrive promising to handle exactly this kind of real-world noise, while also packing in features that, until recently, belonged to pricier segments.
On paper, they tick all the right boxes with high-strength active noise cancellation, spatial audio, and a companion app that offers more control than you’d expect at this price. But beyond the spec sheet, the question is simpler. Do they hold up when daily life gets loud? Let’s dive deeper in our OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro first impressions.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro: Build and design
The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro don’t try too hard to impress visually, and that’s both their strength and their limitation. The design is clean, understated, and unmistakably Nord. There’s no dramatic flourish or standout element here, just a functional aesthetic that blends into your daily carry.
What matters more is how they feel, and here OnePlus gets it right. The buds sit snugly in the ear with a reassuring seal that immediately hints at strong passive isolation. They are lightweight, easy to wear for extended sessions, and don’t require constant adjustment. That’s not something every budget pair can claim.
Durability also seems to be part of the brief, with OnePlus emphasising IP55 protection against dust and water. It fits the everyday-use positioning, even if the design itself feels a touch too safe for a product launching in a crowded segment.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro: Features
On paper, the Nord Buds 4 Pro come loaded with features. There’s up to 55dB active noise cancellation, a six-microphone setup, Bluetooth 6.0 support, and spatial audio, along with multi-device connectivity. It’s the kind of checklist that would have felt ambitious at this price point a couple of years ago.
The real centrepiece, though, is the HeyMelody app. It’s one of the more feature-rich companion apps in this category, offering granular control over almost everything. You can tweak touch controls, fine-tune ANC levels, enable 3D audio, adjust EQ settings depending on your listening preferences, and much more.
There’s also adaptive noise cancellation at play, with real-time optimisation adjusting to your surroundings. It works quietly in the background, but it helps maintain a more consistent listening experience as you move between quieter spaces and noisier environments.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro: Performance
The first thing you notice when you put these on in a chaotic environment is just how effective the ANC is. It handles steady background noise with ease and does a surprisingly good job with more unpredictable sounds. In a chaotic Mumbai local train, the Buds manage to cut through the ruckus in a way that feels comfortably above their price bracket.

Call quality also benefits from the multi-mic setup, especially in outdoor conditions, where voices come through clearly without getting drowned out by wind or traffic noise.
Sound, however, is where things get a bit more nuanced. The Nord Buds 4 Pro lean heavily into bass. Tracks have weight and presence, and for genres like EDM or hip-hop, that tuning works well. But move into anything else, and the low end can start to take over, softening the mids and making the overall sound feel slightly muddy.
There is enough flexibility in the app to tweak the sound profile, but out of the box, this is very clearly a bass-forward listening experience.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro: Battery life
Battery life is easily one of the standout aspects here. OnePlus claims up to 44 hours of total playback with the case (with ANC off), with the buds themselves delivering roughly 10–12 hours on a single charge, depending on usage and settings.
In real-world use, the Nord Buds 4 Pro come surprisingly close to those claims. With around seven to eight hours of daily listening, the buds and case comfortably stretch across multiple days without needing a charge.
That kind of endurance makes a noticeable difference in everyday use. You stop thinking about battery levels altogether, which is exactly what good wireless audio should do. Fast charging adds another layer of convenience, making it easy to top up quickly before heading out.
OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro first impressions
The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro land as a practical, performance-driven upgrade rather than a flashy one. The fit is excellent, the ANC punches above its weight, and the battery life is genuinely impressive. The HeyMelody app adds a level of control that many competitors still lack in this segment.
The main trade-off is in sound tuning. The bass-heavy profile will appeal to many, but it does come at the cost of some clarity in busier tracks. We will delve deeper into the sound quality in our full review, so stay tuned to Unboxed by Croma for that.
All in all, the Nord Buds 4 Pro punch way above their weight class, proving that a solid pair of earphones don’t need to have a hefty price tag. Do these earbuds make it to your wishlist? Drop a comment with your thoughts.
