In April, Oppo is expected to unveil the Oppo Find X9 Ultra in China. This flagship phone, which is expected to deliver the ultimate photography experience, will also be heading to the global market in the near future.
Ahead of the launch, an online tipster has claimed that the Find X9 Ultra will be the world’s first smartphone to support 10x optical zoom.
Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s periscope camera to offer 10x optical zoom
According to the tipster, the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra will feature a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/3.5 aperture and 10x optical zoom. The sensor is said to capture around three times more light than the 10x telephoto on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The device is also tipped to offer the industry’s only native 10x optical zoom system, which effectively works like a built-in teleconverter without requiring external accessories. Previous leaks also mentioned a 200MP 3x periscope telephoto lens claimed to deliver the highest light intake in its class, suggesting that telephoto hardware could be the biggest upgrade on this generation’s Ultra model.
According to other reports, the Find X9 Ultra’s 50MP periscope and 200MP periscope telephoto cameras could be backed by Samsung JN5 and OmniVision OV52 sensors. It is also being said that the Sony LYT-901 200MP main camera, which will be available on the Vivo X300 Ultra, will also be available on the Find X9 Ultra as the primary camera.
The Find X9 Ultra’s rear camera setup is also expected to feature a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide lens and a 3.2MP multispectral lens. For selfies, it may feature a 50MP Samsung JN5 front-facing camera. Leaked images that surfaced back in January this year revealed that the Find X9 Ultra will also have an optional telephoto extender accessory with 4.28x optical zoom.
