Realme’s third device in the Realme 16 series is set to launch next week. The vanilla Realme 16 5G will be the base model and join the Realme 16 Pro 5G and 16 Pro+ 5G that debuted this January. The brand has revealed key specifications of the forthcoming phone ahead of the launch event.
Realme 16 5G launch date announced
The Realme 16 5G will launch in India on April 2. As per the official microsite, the upcoming offering has an iPhone Air-like design with the camera bar on the back panel. The phone will be available in Air Black and Air White colours, with the latter offering a gradient design. It features IP69 certification against water and dust.

The Realme 16 5G is touted to be India’s first selfie mirror phone, meaning it has a mirror on the back panel that acts like a viewfinder while taking selfies from the rear camera. The phone is confirmed to come with 50MP rear and front sensors. It will have various camera features on board.
Coming to the front, the Realme 16 5G is confirmed to feature a 6.57-inch display and 4,200 nits of peak brightness. The smartphone is confirmed to be backed by a 7,000 mAh battery unit with support for 60W fast charging.
It will also come equipped with a 6050 mm2 air flow vapour cooling chamber for heat dissipation. The upcoming offering will ship with realme UI 7 out of the box. It is confirmed to be eligible for three years of Android updates and four years of security patches.
