Earlier this year, Realme unveiled the Realme 15 Pro, but the company skipped the Pro+ edition, which was expected to arrive with improved cameras. Recent reports have revealed that the Realme 16 Pro+ will debut alongside the 16 Pro.
Now, a retail box image of the Pro+ has surfaced, confirming not only its existence but also showcasing a new packaging design. At the same time, a separate leak has revealed the launch date for the Realme 16 series.
Realme 16 Pro+ retail box and launch date
The official teaser mentions the “Realme 16 Pro series,” hinting that the lineup may include more than one Pro-branded model. The image also suggests that the series will be available in a golden shade.
According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+ will be announced on January 6, 2026. On the same day, Redmi is expected to take the wraps off the Redmi Note 15. Reports further suggest that the Redmi Note 15 Pro and Note 15 Pro+ will launch in India in February.
Most current Realme smartphones ship in a yellow retail box, but the Realme 16 Pro+ appears in a new grey-coloured box. The moniker on the packaging confirms the much-anticipated Pro+ variant, which is rumoured to include a periscope telephoto camera.
Realme 16 Pro+ specifications (expected)
While the Realme 16 Pro’s specifications have already surfaced, details of the Pro+ edition are yet to be revealed by the rumour mill. A recent leak by tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the 16 Pro+ will arrive in four variants: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB. The device is said to be offered in Master Grey, Master Gold, and Camellia Pink colour options.
As for the Realme 16 Pro, it is expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED 1.5K 144Hz display, a 50MP front camera and a 200MP+ 8MP dual-camera setup. At present, information regarding its chipset remains unknown.
The Realme 16 Pro is expected to offer up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging support. Other likely features include Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Pro+ edition is expected to look similar to the Realme 16 Pro. Apart from pack a periscope telephoto camera, it is also expected to feature a more powerful chipset.
