Samsung has been offering 45W charging since 2019 with the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. While other flagship phones offer up to 120W fast charging these days, Samsung’s flagship models have remained on 45W.
Reports suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a major charging speed upgrade. This is now almost confirmed through a certification that has revealed a couple of details about the S26 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 3C certified in China
Reports have revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s global version (including India) has the model number SM-S948B. The above screenshot shows a Samsung phone with model number SM-S9480 approved by China’s 3C certification platform. This is the Chinese edition of the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The 3C listing reveals two key details about the S26 Ultra. First, the device will support satellite connectivity. Secondly, and most importantly, it confirms support for 60W charging, which is finally a much-anticipated charging boost.
Like the previous generation, the S26 Ultra’s retail box will not include a charger in China. This could be the same case in other countries. In a recent development, Samsung silently listed a brand-new 60W charger on its website. This could be designed for the S26 Ultra, though Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra specifications (rumoured)
While the Galaxy S26 Ultra will arrive with a charging upgrade, reports suggest that its battery size could remain at a 5,000mAh capacity, the same as many of its previous-generation models. Apart from 3C, the S26 Ultra recently appeared on the important FCC certification website, which revealed that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This chip appears to be an overclocked version advertised as a “For Galaxy” variant.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED 2K+ 120Hz screen offering a crisp viewing experience. It is expected to ship with the latest One UI 8.5-based Android 16 OS. It will continue to feature the S-Pen, which could be thinner than before.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra launch timeframe (rumoured)
As per reports, the Galaxy S26 series will debut by late February 2026. Before that, the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 mid-range phones.
