The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to debut in the next few months globally. Well ahead of the launch, AndroidHeadlines collaborated with well-known tipster OnLeaks to share the CAD renders of the device, revealing its design and expected upgrades. Here’s a look at what to expect from Samsung’s next foldable phone.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 CAD renders emerge
Leaked CAD renders indicate that Samsung is sticking closely to the existing design language seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device is expected to retain sharp corners, flat sides and a prominent rear camera module, with only slight refinements to its overall build.
In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could measure around 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5mm when unfolded and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded. This makes it marginally thicker than its predecessor, possibly to accommodate the return of S Pen support through a digitiser layer.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 specifications (rumoured)
The Galaxy Z Fold 8’s displays are likely to remain unchanged, with an 8-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch cover display. Reports also suggest that Samsung may continue without an under-display camera, focusing instead on maintaining image quality.
On the hardware front, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to receive a noticeable battery upgrade, moving to a 5,000mAh unit along with 45W fast charging. This would mark a step up from the previous generation and align it closer to Samsung’s flagship standards.
The camera setup could include a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x zoom. Powering the device is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, paired with up to 16GB RAM and storage options reaching 1TB.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 launch timeframe (rumoured)
Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in July or August, in line with its usual Unpacked timeline. It may launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and possibly a wider foldable model aimed at competing with Apple’s rumoured foldable iPhone. Pricing is expected to remain around the current range, though rising chip and memory costs could influence a slight increase.
