Vivo has introduced the Vivo Y500i as the most affordable smartphone in the Y500 series in China, which already includes the Vivo Y500 and Y500 Pro. One of the major highlights of the phone is its humongous 7,200mAh battery. Read on to know what other specifications are packed inside this affordable 5G smartphone.
Vivo Y500i: Specs and features
Starting at the front, the Vivo Y500i features a 6.75-inch LCD panel with support for an HD+ resolution. It promises good outdoor visibility, as it supports up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. The smartphone runs Android 15 with a layer of OriginOS on top.
The Y500i is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which offers decent performance for entry-level 5G smartphones. The device ships with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Its massive 7,200mAh battery supports 44W fast charging.
On the camera front, the Vivo Y500i features a 5MP front-facing camera and a single 50MP rear camera with LED flash. Additional features include an IR blaster, a 3.5mm audio jack, an SGS Gold Label 5-star drop and shock resistance certification, and IP68/69-level protection against dust and water.
Vivo Y500i: Price and availability
Vivo is offering these specifications at a starting price of 1,499 CNY (~Rs 19,400) for the 8GB + 128GB base variant. The top-end 12GB + 512GB configuration is priced at 2,199 CNY (~Rs 28,450). The smartphone is available in Galaxy Silver, Phoenix Gold, and Obsidian Black colour options.
At present, the Vivo Y500i is limited to the Chinese market, and it remains unclear whether it will be released in other regions.
