Vivo’s next flagship duo, the X300 5G and X300 Pro 5G, is about to debut in China. The company’s latest teasers reveal that both phones are set to feature a 7.95mm lightweight frame, a design move that promises a sleeker, more comfortable in-hand experience. Whether that measurement includes the now-signature circular camera bump remains unclear, but it’s safe to say Vivo is chasing elegance without compromise.

The big story, however, isn’t just design. It’s software. After years of users slumming it with the dated Funtouch OS, Vivo is switching gears with Origin OS 6, based on Android 16. Origin OS 6 will make its official India debut on October 15, though the X300 series itself won’t hit global markets until December 2025.
Under the hood and behind the lens
Performance-wise, the lineup is running on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, a chipset built for power efficiency and AI-driven optimisation. The X300 Pro is expected to lead Vivo’s imaging charge with a 200MP periscope camera and Zeiss 2.35x telephoto zoom lens, underlining the brand’s ongoing partnership with the legendary optics maker.
Early teasers hint at a camera system capable of capturing cinematic detail even in challenging light, a consistent hallmark of Vivo’s X series.
For those keeping an eye on the horizon, Vivo has also teased a model powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, expected to appear in a rumored X300 Ultra next year. That could give Vivo the muscle it needs to compete head-on with the big guns from Samsung and Apple.
The X300 series is a confident stride from Vivo toward a cleaner OS, a refined aesthetic, and a camera system built for those who see smartphones as more than tools, but creative instruments. Are you excited for these camera-centric phones? Drop a comment with your thoughts.
