Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone for the Chinese market. Over the past few weeks, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has been consistently sharing details about the device. In his latest Weibo post, the tipster has revealed the phone’s camera specifications along with its expected launch timeframe.
Xiaomi 17 Max to feature 200MP Samsung camera
According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a Samsung HPx 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. While the exact sensor model has not been confirmed, it is believed to be the Samsung HPE.
He further revealed that the Xiaomi 17 Max’s rear camera setup will also include a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a Sony IMX8-series 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor size.
As per previous reports, the Xiaomi 17 Max will be a larger version of the Xiaomi 17, which features a 6.3-inch display. The 17 Max is expected to sport a large 6.8-inch or 6.9-inch OLED panel on the front. However, it is said to miss out on the secondary rear display that is available on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max models.
Powering the Xiaomi 17 Max will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Under the hood, the phone is tipped to pack a massive 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It is expected to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
