Ensure peace of mind for your phone with an extended warranty

We all love buying new gadgets, and there is always a honeymoon phase when you use the new device or gadget with extra care and attention. Even the smallest possibility that something might damage the newly purchased electronic sends shivers down our spine. After the manufacturer warranty ends, we are always out of our over-coddling phase and are pretty carefree with it. And this is exactly the phase when the product is most vulnerable to any sort of damage and malfunction. So what to do in that case? Well, you can always opt for an extended warranty. Here’s what you need to know about it.

What is an extended warranty?

Warranty, as you know, is the promise, for a certain period of time, from a manufacturer that their product is to be repaired in case something goes wrong. The promise might be for the entirety of the product or a part of the product as well. There can be a combination of promises for different parts of a single product.

Extended warranty is the facility of increasing that period of warranty at the request of a customer in exchange for a sum of money. You can think of it as a sort of insurance for the product. But unlike conventional insurance, you only have to pay money once upfront when getting the extended warranty.

Extended warranty: Features you need to know about

There are numerous things that an extended warranty entails. Depending on the product, price, and manufacturer, your extended warranty can be different than someone else’s. But there are a few basic things that major extended warranty covers. These are as follows.

– Repair for an agreed-upon period of time
– Covers you from the damages caused due to a manufacturing defect
– Covers the cost of replacement in several extended warranties

Apple Care: What you need to know about it?

If you’re considering getting an extended warranty for your tech, and you happen to have an Apple iPhone or other Apple products, you may want to know about Apple Care, usually stylised as AppleCare. The service is Apple’s in-house solution to an extended warranty, along with other technical support and services, for your products. Additionally, it also includes additional damage protection for two additional years.

AppleCare+ for iPhone, AppleCare+ for iPad and AppleCare+ for Mac are some of the service packages you can opt for, depending on what Apple products you do have. For instance, AppleCare+ for iPhone plans are priced between Rs 8,900 and Rs 28,900, depending on which iPhone you have. Customers wanting to opt for AppleCare+ can do so while purchasing an iPhone, or within 60 days of purchasing one by calling 000800.

Why should you get an extended warranty?

In an age when devices are costly, it makes perfect sense as no matter how reliable any device is, electronic devices are always unpredictable. The right extended warranty for the right product will help you save a lot of money in the event that something goes wrong with it.

There are plenty of benefits to getting an extended warranty. The biggest one is that your product is now covered for any damages, so in case something happens, you don’t need to pay money. This reduces the hassle and undue stress of sudden expenditure. Thus it will provide you with peace of mind.

An extended warranty makes a lot more sense today when electronics aren’t particularly inexpensive, especially for premium electronic goods.
