OnePlus 15R may have the largest battery yet in a OnePlus phone

As the December 17 launch is nearing, OnePlus has started revealing more details about the OnePlus 15R, a performance-focused gaming phone. The OnePlus 15, which went official last month, has the largest battery ever on a OnePlus phone. A new update from the brand reveals that the battery size of the 15R exceeds that of the 15.

OnePlus 15R’s key details confirmed

While the OnePlus 15 packs a 7,300mAh battery with 100W wired and 120W wireless charging, the OnePlus 15R houses a bigger 7,400mAh battery. The humongous battery is accompanied by 80W charging, but there’s no support for wireless charging.

Talking about the battery of the 15R, the company claims that it can maintain 80 percent capacity even after four years of use. The OnePlus Ace 6 and Ace 6T have 8,300mAh and 7,800mAh batteries, respectively, but their availability is confined to the Chinese market. Under the hood, the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, making it the first phone to feature it.

The company claims that it has co-developed the chip with Qualcomm to bring improved performance on the 15R. The phone comes with the Plus Key button, which allows users to easily access Plus Mind, which helps streamline key tasks and system functions.

The OnePlus 15R is confirmed to feature a 165Hz AMOLED panel with up to 1,800 nits of maximum brightness, which can go down to as low as 1 nit. The display also has TÜV Rheinland Eye Care 5.0 certification, making it safe for preventing eye fatigue.

The OnePlus 15R is expected to feature a 50MP main camera. While it is yet to be officially confirmed, the brand revealed that it will support 4K video recording at 120fps, a feature that’s also available on the OnePlus 15.

As mentioned above, the OnePlus 15R is slated to go official along with the OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablet on December 17 via an event in Bengaluru, India. Those interested in attending the event can purchase the tickets through BookMyShow.
