OnePlus 15R performance revealed via Geekbench listing

OnePlus is all set to announce the performance-focused smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, on December 17 in India. Arriving as a successor to the OnePlus 13R, the device is expected to offer stellar performance as it will feature the all-new Snapdragon 8-series chip. Before its launch, the device has appeared on Geekbench, revealing its chipset, RAM, and OS version.

OnePlus 15R: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5’s performance revealed

Reports have revealed that model numbers CPH2767 and CPH2769 are associated with the OnePlus 15R. The CPH2767 variant has now emerged in the database of the aforementioned benchmarking platform.

The listing reveals that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip comprises two cores operating at 3.32GHz and six cores working at 3.80GHz. The metadata confirms that the device is equipped with the Adreno 829 GPU. The listing further reveals that it has 12GB of RAM and Android 16.

The device scored 2784 in the single-core test and 9329 points in the multi-core test, which is in line with what is expected from this chip. For those unfamiliar, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while positioned lower than the more powerful 8 Elite Gen 5, will offer similar multi-core performance and slightly lower single-core output, as the 8 Elite Gen 5 clocks around 3600 in the single-core test.

In terms of graphics, it appears the Adreno 829 could be a binned variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s Adreno 840 GPU. This suggests that the 8 Gen 5’s graphics performance should be strong, but not on the same level as the 8 Elite Gen 5.

OnePlus 15R specifications (rumoured)

Apart from confirming the OnePlus 15R’s design and chipset, the company hasn’t revealed anything significant about the device. However, rumours suggest it could be based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered Ace 6T, which recently debuted in China.

One of the major highlights of the OnePlus Ace 6T is its huge 8,300mAh battery with 100W charging. On the front, it has a 6.83-inch OLED screen that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming.

Photography is not the OnePlus 15R’s primary focus, but it features a 50MP Sony IMX906 flagship-grade sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, it has a 16MP front-facing camera. The device also offers an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and an IP68/69-rated dustproof and water-resistant chassis.
