Last week, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 15 in India, and at the same event, it confirmed that the OnePlus 15R is also on the way. It appears that fans will not have to wait long, as its landing page is already live on the company’s official website. In addition, a new teaser image released by the brand offers a first look at the phone’s rear design.
OnePlus 15R’s first teaser released
The above poster suggests that the OnePlus 15R will be available in black and green shades. A closer look at the camera module indicates a dual-camera setup.
Reports previously claimed that the device would be based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered OnePlus Ace 6, which launched last month in China. However, the 15R’s rear camera layout does not match the Ace 6, implying that it could be a completely different model.
Instead, the OnePlus 15R is more likely to be based on the OnePlus Ace 6T, which is expected to debut as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 phone in China in December. The 15R, also tipped for a December launch in India, may end up sharing several similarities with the Ace 6T.
OnePlus Ace 6T specifications (rumoured)
According to reports, the OnePlus Ace 6T will have a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and an ultra-high 165Hz refresh rate. Along with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, the device is said to feature a massive 8,000mAh+ battery with 100W rapid charging, up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
For cameras, it may include a 32MP front camera and a 50MP (main) + 8MP (ultra-wide) dual-camera system on the rear. Other expected features include ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, NFC, an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, an x-axis linear motor, a metal middle frame, and an IP68/69-rated dust- and water-resistant design.
Like the 15R, the Ace 6T is also expected to debut in black and green options. In addition, leaks suggest a purple edition and a special Genshin Impact-themed variant.
