OnePlus 15 launched in India with 165Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and 7,300mAh battery

The much-awaited OnePlus 15 has gone official globally, including in India. Compared to the previous generation, the new offering promises top-notch performance, thanks to the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It also packs one of the largest batteries seen on a OnePlus phone.

While previous generations sported round camera modules, the OnePlus 15 features a squarish camera layout similar to the OnePlus 13 series. Continue reading ahead to know more about its specifications and availability.

OnePlus 15: Specifications and features

Starting from the front, the OnePlus 15 features an impressive 6.73-inch AMOLED screen that produces a 1.5K resolution. What sets this phone apart from its rivals is that it supports a 165Hz refresh rate, delivering a fluid system-wide experience, including stutter-free gaming. For security, it has an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, which works seamlessly with wet and oily fingers.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered phone ships with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, promising lag-free performance and ample space. It is also impressive in the battery department, as it features a massive 7,300mAh battery, which can be juiced up using a 120W wired charger and supports 50W wireless charging.

The OnePlus 15 is the company’s first phone to ship preloaded with the newest OxygenOS 16-based Android 16. The new UI not only offers smoother performance but also includes many AI-driven features, including Gemini integration for the Plus Key. This side button is configurable to access various functions like the sound profile, torch, voice recorder and more, apart from accessing Mind Space. As far as updates are concerned, the device will be treated with up to four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

Coming to the camera department, the OnePlus 15 has a 32MP camera for selfies and video calls. The rear camera setup is headlined by an OIS-enabled 50MP main camera, a 50MP camera for ultra-wide shots and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS support. OnePlus’ own Detail Max engine is onboard for optimising the photography experience.

For gamers, the OnePlus 15 is equipped with dual speakers, an x-axis linear motor and a dedicated Wi-Fi chip for stable connectivity. With OP Gaming Technology onboard, it offers unmatched 165fps gaming expereince. Speaking of connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster and a USB (3.2 Gen1) port. As for durability, the OnePlus 15 has an aluminium alloy middle frame and an IP68/69-rated dust- and water-resistant body.

OnePlus 15: Price and availability

The OnePlus 15 has arrived in India in two options such as 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB, which are priced at Rs 72,999 and Rs 79,999, respectively. Buyers can choose from options like Infinite Black, Sand Storm and Ultra Violet.

The OnePlus 15 goes on open sale on November 13, with launch offers including HDFC bank discounts, free OnePlus Nord Buds 3, no-cost EMI options, and an upgrade bonus of up to Rs 4,000.
