This could be the first look at OnePlus’ gaming console

Last month, tipster Digital Chat Station hinted that OnePlus could be working on an Android handheld gaming console. Today, he shared a leaked render that offers a first look at the device, suggesting that its launch may not be too far away.

OnePlus gaming console’s design revealed

The leaked image of the OnePlus gaming console reveals an ergonomic handheld design featuring a striking black centre panel sporting the iconic OnePlus logo, flanked by textured purple grips. These ergonomic handles appear to be finished in a premium, leather-like material, suggesting a focus on comfort and high-end build quality for long gaming sessions.

The image also shows prominent shoulder triggers and dedicated top-mounted buttons. Interestingly, the design seems optimised for a touchscreen-first experience, which is ideal for FPS titles, while retaining essential physical inputs. Dual camera sensors are tucked into the upper-left corner, hinting that this console might share several DNA traits with flagship smartphones while delivering a dedicated, powerhouse gaming form factor.

OnePlus gaming console: What to expect

DCS previously revealed that the OnePlus gaming console is not a traditional Android handheld with full physical controls and joysticks. Instead, it is said to follow a new approach focused on FPS gaming, combining shoulder triggers with touchscreen-based multi-finger input.

The OnePlus gaming console is expected to carry forward smartphone-like advantages such as responsive touch, flagship-level performance tuning, and high refresh rate support. While the concept may feel like a hybrid of a phone and console, the tipster sees it as an interesting new direction for performance-driven gaming devices.

In terms of specs, another tipster, Bald Panda, has claimed that it will feature an 8-inch display and will be powered by a Dimensity chip. The rest of its specifications are under wraps, and there’s no clarity on which markets will receive it, apart from China.
