Poco X8 Pro Max launched with 9,000mAh battery, Dimensity 9500s; Poco X8 Pro tags along

Poco has unveiled the much-awaited Poco X8 series of smartphones globally, including India. As reports revealed, the lineup does not include the standard Poco X8, but instead includes the Poco X8 Pro Max alongside the X8 Pro. Here’s a look at the specifications, features, and pricing of both devices.

Poco X8 Pro Max, Poco X8 Pro: Specs and features

Among the two, the Poco X8 Pro is the smaller device equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel, whereas the X8 Pro Max has a bigger 6.83-inch AMOLED screen. Both screens offer a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. Both phones run on HyperOS 3.0-based Android 16 and are promised to receive four years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

The Poco X8 Pro Max is the world’s first phone to feature the flagship-grade Dimensity 9500s chip, promising strong performance for gaming and everyday use. The same can be expected from the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, which powers the more affordable X8 Pro. The series ships with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB / 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The X8 Pro Max is India’s first phone to house a massive 9,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the X8 Pro houses a 6,500mAh battery. Both devices support 100W wired charging and 27W reverse charging.

Moving on to the optics, both phones feature a 20MP front camera and a dual-camera setup featuring an OIS-enabled 50MP main snapper and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor on the back. While the X8 Pro Max has a Sony IMX882 as the primary sensor, the X8 Pro gets the OmniVision Light Fusion 600 as the main camera.

The Poco X8 Pro Max has an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor and a 5,800mm² heat dissipation unit, whereas the X8 Pro has an optical fingerprint sensor and a 5,300mm² heat dissipation system. The series ships with other features such as Dolby Atmos-powered dual speakers, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, an IR blaster, and a USB-C port. In terms of durability, the X8 Pro series offers Gorilla Glass 7i protection for the display and an IP68/69/69K-rated dust- and water-resistant chassis.

Poco X8 Pro Max, Poco X8 Pro: Price and availability

The Poco X8 Pro Max has arrived in two configurations, such as 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, priced at Rs 42,999 and Rs 46,999, respectively. It has arrived in three shades: Black, White, and Green.

The X8 Pro, on the other hand, comes in two options, such as 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB. These variants are priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 35,999, respectively. Buyers can choose from Black, White, and Blue colour variants. Its special Iron Man Edition, which comes with 12GB+256GB configuration, is priced at Rs 37,999. Both phones are scheduled to go on March 23 in India.
