POCO has announced the launch date of its POCO X8 series phones in India. The lineup will consist of Pro and Pro Max variants. There’s no standard model this year, and instead, the Xiaomi sub-brand is introducing a new Pro Max model. The POCO X8 Pro will be arriving as the successor to last year’s POCO X7 Pro.
POCO X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max launching this month
The POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max are scheduled to debut on March 17, which is next Tuesday. The teaser poster reveals both smartphones with an iPhone-like pill-shaped camera island accommodating two sensors. The camera rings on the Pro and Pro Max variants are accentuated by Yellow and Red colours, respectively. The former will be available in Black colour while the latter will come in White shade.
POCO also confirmed that the X8 Pro will be powered by a Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor. Meanwhile, the X8 Pro Max will be equipped with a Dimensity 9500s SoC

The rest of the details of the upcoming POCO X-series phones have not been revealed. The devices are expected to be rebranded versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max that released in China earlier in January this year. The Redmi duo’s design and chipsets corroborate with POCO’s upcoming smartphones. So, we can expect the Indian model of POCO X8 Pro and Pro Max to be same as the Chinese counterparts.
To recall, the Redmi Turbo 5 duo have a 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, an integrated fingerprint scanner, a 50MP+8MP rear camera, and a 20MP selfie snapper. The Turbo 5 is backed by a 7,560mAh battery, whereas the Max model is powered by a mammoth 10,000mAh cell. Both phones support 100W fast charging.
