A recent report claimed that Samsung may have cancelled the Galaxy S26 Edge phone due to less-than-stellar sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, a new report now reveals that the South Korean tech giant is working on a phone codenamed “More Slim”. If the codename is to be deciphered, it could very well be the Galaxy S26 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge could be slimmer than previous generation
The report reveals that Samsung has recently started working on a new smartphone project known internally as More Slim. Notably, the Galaxy S25 Edge had the internal codename “Slim.”
What stands out is that development on the “More Slim” device began considerably later than the phone previously thought to be the Galaxy S26 Edge, indicating that “More Slim” is likely a separate project rather than the originally intended S26 Edge model. Readers should note that while the Galaxy S26 Edge seems possible, it is yet to be officially confirmed.
The “More Slim” codename suggests that the Galaxy S26 Edge could be even slimmer than the S25 Edge, which is an ultra-thin phone measuring only 5.8mm in thickness. Samsung managed to pack a 3,900mAh battery inside the S25 Edge, and it remains to be seen whether the S26 Edge, with a slimmer body, will have the same or a larger battery capacity.

The report further states that the development of the Galaxy S26 Edge is lagging far behind the regular Galaxy S26 lineup, which includes three models, namely the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Therefore, the S26 Edge is expected to debut and go on sale several weeks after the S26 trio.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge expected specifications
The Galaxy S26 Edge is rumoured to pack the same 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz screen found on the S25 Edge. Under the hood, the device may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chip. There’s also a possibility that it may continue to feature the same 200MP dual-camera system seen on its predecessor.
