Samsung is known for offering the same set of rear cameras on the base and Plus models of its S-series. For instance, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus came with identical front and triple rear cameras, differing mainly in size, the S25 being the smaller of the two.

The new report reveals that the Galaxy S26’s rear camera setup will feature a new Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNG 50MP primary camera and a new Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LD 12MP telephoto sensor. These will be accompanied by a Sony IMX564 12MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, it will feature a Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LU 12MP front camera.

The same camera configuration will also be available on the Galaxy S26 Plus. While the primary and telephoto cameras are new, the ultra-wide and selfie sensors remain unchanged from those on the S25 and S25 Plus.

The report adds that the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus will support the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec, allowing both phones to record up to 4K 60fps using the front and rear cameras. This makes the S26 series particularly appealing to content creators.

Battery and chipset details

The report also reveals the battery capacities of both phones. The Galaxy S26 will feature a 4,300mAh battery, while the Plus edition will come with a 4,900mAh unit. The Plus model retains the same capacity as the previous generation, but the base S26 gets a 300mAh boost over the S25.

However, there are conflicting claims about which chipset will be offered in specific regions, so it’s best to wait for official confirmation.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch date

A recent report indicates that the Galaxy S26 lineup may go official in February next year. The company is also said to be working on the Galaxy S26 Edge, which could see a separate launch in the first half of 2026.
