Apple introduced iOS 26.1 recently, and it brings some major updates and changes. For instance, you now get an alarm option for reminders. Pretty cool, right? But this update also adds an annoying feature that you may want to turn off forever.
We are talking about the new ‘slide to stop’ option for alarms, which has replaced the single-touch Stop button. And we all pretty much find the new option a bit annoying. So, here’s how you can disable the new slider alarm for good in iOS 26.1.
How to disable iPhone’s slider alarm
The new slider alarm in iOS 26.1 is similar to the ‘slide to unlock’ option on older iOS versions. While it may aesthetically look good, it isn’t quite convenient, especially when you just woken up from a deep sleep. You don’t really want to do the effort of swiping your finger from left to right.
All you want to do is hit that Stop button ASAP, or hit snooze, if you plan to get a little more sleep. Here’s how you can replace the iPhone’s slider alarm with the old single-touch Stop button.

For some reason, Apple has hidden the option to disable this feature within Accessibility, but nonetheless, we’ve found the option to disable it. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap Accessibility.
Step 3: Tap Touch.
Step 4: Enable the ‘Prefer Single-Touch Actions’.
Once you enable the following option, the good old single-touch Stop button will be back.
That’s how you easily disable the slider alarm on iPhones. Let us know which option you prefer in the comments below.
