10 fun WhatsApp channels you should follow to get more out of the chat app

WhatsApp launched ‘Channels’ for its beta users and is expected to roll out as an update soon to everyone else. Like broadcast lists, Channels creates one-way communication with the participant, allowing them access to topical photos, videos, and text messages. Apart from keeping the contact details private, users can access this feature from both their laptops and smartphones

However, despite having a region-based filter, it is only natural to find yourself confused as to where to begin looking for the right channel. But don’t worry; we have your back with ten interesting topics you can get started with.

Make the most of the update with these WhatsApp channels

Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or a tech aficionado, there’s something for everyone on WhatsApp. Check out our list of the top 10 channels you can be a part of and stay up-to-date with the trend.

Celebrities

Big on Bollywood? With WhatsApp Channels, you can have a sneak peek into your favourite celebrity’s life. All you have to do is search for the public figure of your choice within the filter tab. However, since the update is gradually being rolled out to users, you can currently only follow Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and Vijay Deverakonda, amongst others. Your favourite actor’s WhatsApp Channels would also deliver crucial links and industry updates, which you can catch up on with your routine chats.

Art and Lifestyle

Popular lifestyle website Curly Tales is a great channel to subscribe to if you like a helping of lifestyle news alongside your breakfast. Beginning from food and wellness, get access to their travel-related content, polls and other interactive messages with WhatsApp Channels. If you grew up watching Rob from MAD (Music Art Dance), you have the option of catching up with his art on his very own WhatsApp Channel.

Music and culinary art

Music streaming apps are great, but now you can have updates by your favourite artists right into your chatbox. Neha Kakkar and Diljit Dosanjh announced their WhatsApp Channels to ensure fans don’t have to look any further for any of their upcoming launches. Jumping on board the trend, celebrity chef Ranveer Brar has also introduced his channel that gives users exclusive access to his culinary skills.

Sports

If you’re a sports enthusiast who constantly has to juggle between apps to stay updated with news, there are several WhatsApp channels you can follow to change that. Users can follow their favourite IPL teams, which include Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, or subscribe to Star Sports India for an overview of their favourite sport.

While the update is undoubtedly useful, it is crucial to note that it remains in process and is yet to roll out for a larger audience. However, we certainly can’t wait to see how the feature continues to improve in the near future.
