Here’s how you can check your laptop’s model number and configuration

Your laptop’s basic configuration information will be displayed when it boots up, either on the PC info screen or the Windows System. However, these statistics must be more comprehensive, as the system utility also describes your laptop’s system settings information.

The laptop model, currently installed and functioning services, and comprehensive information about hardware elements like the disk drive and devices are some of the most crucial information you can obtain from the system information program. The Windows Run command can be used to launch the system information utility. 

Here's how you can check your laptop's model number and configuration

You can take the following steps to determine your laptop’s model number and configuration:

1. Check the manufacturer’s label

A manufacturer’s label can be seen on the bottom of most laptops. The model number, serial number, and other details are typically included. The label might also be on the laptop’s side or back.

2. Check the laptop’s documentation

You can find the model information if you still have the original paperwork or box that went with your laptop. Find the model number by looking for a sticker or printed information.

3. Check about this Mac section

On a MacBook, select the Apple menu at the top-left corner of the screen and choose “About This Mac.” The model details are presented under the “Overview” tab of the open window.

4. Use command-line tools

Advanced users can use specific commands to start a command prompt (Windows) or terminal (Mac) to find the laptop model. You might open the command prompt on Windows and run “wmic csproduct get the name” before pressing Enter. The model name needs to be shown.

5. Check the laptop’s battery compartment

Open the battery compartment if your laptop has a replaceable battery and check for any labels or marks that list the model number.

6. Use system information utilities

7. Check the laptop’s BIOS or UEFI settings

Use the System Information utility on Windows. Enter “msinfo32” (without the quotations) after pressing the Windows key + R. The “System Model” or “Product Name” field should be found.

Visit the manufacturer’s official website if the above-mentioned procedures need to give the model information. Enter the serial number on the product or support page to access the necessary model information.
