OnePlus 15 confirmed to launch this month in India with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

After teasing its arrival for the past few days, OnePlus has finally confirmed the OnePlus 15’s launch date for India. Set to debut in November, it may arrive as the country’s first phone powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most potent chip – the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Apart from confirming the launch date, OnePlus has also revealed a few key specs of the device.

OnePlus 15 launch date

OnePlus will hold a global launch event for the OnePlus 15 at 7pm on November 13. Apart from featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the device will have 10,667Mbps LPDDR5X Ultra+ RAM in the 16GB variant. This combination promises a stutter-free experience during intensive tasks and while handling multiple apps at the same time.

The OnePlus 15 will be the company’s first phone to run on OxygenOS 16, which will offer AI-driven experiences apart from smoother interactions. The company is heavily banking on its Mind Space, now powered by Google Gemini. For the unversed, Mind Space is an AI-powered digital memory hub that lets you instantly capture, intelligently organise, and naturally search for any content saved from your screen.

The OnePlus 15 also features its own Detail Engine for advanced image processing. Its camera app features include an Ultra-Clear 26MP mode for enhanced detail in textures and a Clear Burst 10fps speed for freezing fast motion using dual-exposure anti-blur. The Clear Night Engine utilises Dual Analog Gain to produce brighter, cleaner, and more natural low-light photos with reduced noise.

The other details of the OnePlus 15 will be confirmed in the coming days. However, its specifications are no secret as it has already launched in China.

OnePlus 15 sale date, price

At present, there is no official word on the OnePlus 15’s price for India. However, the brand has confirmed that it will go on sale on the same day at 8pm.

It will be available in three shades, such as Infinite Black, which features a premium frosted glass back; Sand Storm, featuring a fibreglass composite rear; and Ultra Violet, sporting a dual-layer optical coating that responds to light with a violet-to-sapphire shift.

A recent report revealed that the OnePlus 15 would be priced at £949 (~Rs 1,10,700) for the 16GB+512GB configuration in the UK. This pricing is cheaper than that of the OnePlus 13’s same configuration, suggesting that there could be a price drop or no increase.

Therefore, it is likely that the OnePlus 15 may start around Rs 70,000 in India. For reference, the OnePlus 13 was introduced with a price tag of Rs 69,999.
