Vivo recently showcased the Vivo X300 Ultra at MWC 2026, where it confirmed that it will be the company’s first Ultra-branded flagship in the global market. Rumours suggest that it will be launching soon in China, and ahead of the expected launch, the company’s product manager, Han Boxiao, has shared key details about the X300 Ultra’s primary and periscope telephoto cameras. The official details revealed that the X300 Ultra will be the world’s first phone to feature dual 200MP cameras.
Vivo X300 Ultra primary, periscope telephoto cameras confirmed
Boxiao confirmed that the Vivo X300 Ultra’s main camera is confirmed to use the Sony LYTIA-901 sensor, making it the first phone to adopt this sensor. The 35mm main camera uses a 200MP 1/1.12-inch ultra-large sensor, delivering around 30 percent more effective light intake per pixel.
Stabilization is upgraded from CIPA 5.0 to CIPA 6.5, improving stability for video and night photography. The lens structure has also been enhanced to a 1G + 6P design with ALD PRO coating, reducing reflections, ghosting and flare.
The phone will also feature a 200-megapixel ZEISS periscope telephoto camera based on a custom Samsung HP0 sensor. It introduces 3° optical stabilisation with CIPA 7.0-level performance, improved BlueImage tuning, 60fps motion capture, and stronger performance for high-zoom and low-light photography.
Other camera sensors
Reports have revealed that the Vivo X300 Ultra’s rear camera setup will also include a Sony LYT-828 50MP ultra-wide camera, which was available as the primary and ultra-wide cameras on the X300 Pro. For enhanced colour accuracy, the X300 Ultra will also feature a 5MP multispectral lens.
The device is equipped with a 50MP front camera with autofocus support. The company will be offering an optional 400mm teleconverter kit with 17x optical zoom support. While this will be designed for creators, the company will also offer a regular teleconverter for general users.
Vivo X300 Ultra India launch
At present, there is no official word on the X300 Ultra’s India launch. In China, it is expected to launch this month. It could probably head to global markets, including India, in the second quarter of this year.
