Vivo was the first brand to launch Dimensity 9500-powered flagship phones last year. In October 2025, it unveiled the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro equipped with the said chipset. It now appears that the Vivo X500 series may continue this trend by debuting as the world’s first Dimensity 9600-powered phones.
Vivo X500 series: What’s known so far?
According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, MediaTek may unveil the Dimensity 9600 as its first 2nm chip in September. He has also stated that the first D9600-powered phones will debut in China in the same month. At the same time, Xiaomi may unveil the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-powered Xiaomi 18 lineup in September in China.
At present, both the Vivo X500 series and the Oppo Find X10 lineup are expected to feature the Dimensity 9600. However, as has been the case for the past few years, the Vivo X500 series may debut before the Find X10 lineup.
Reports have revealed that Vivo may skip the X400 branding, likely due to tetraphobia, as the number 4 is considered unlucky in China and some Asian markets. The new leak also suggests that the lineup may include three models: the Vivo X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max.
The Vivo X500 lineup is also expected to include the top-of-the-line X500 Ultra, which may debut earlier than expected. Likely, the Ultra edition may arrive by the end of this year in China. This device is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which will also be a 2nm offering. At present, there is no concrete information about the X500 series’ other specifications.
Upcoming Vivo phones
For India, Vivo will be unveiling the Vivo V70 and V70 Elite in the coming week. It is also said to be working on the X300 FE, which may debut as early as March.
For China, the brand is expected to hold a major launch event next month. It may see the arrival of multiple products, such as the Vivo X300 Ultra, X300 Max, Pad 6 Pro tablet, and the company’s first vlogging camera.
